Our Tenents of Faith

  • It was once uttered by Saint James found in James 2:19, “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder!" You see, the first couple of letters found in the word ‘Christianity’ is CHRIST. The entire Christian faith is not about faith in God, but rather faith in the only Son of God and His finished work.

In the epistle written by Saint John, the Apostle of Love, it is written “Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.” —1 John 2:23

In short Christianity is about Jesus Christ, the only Son of God. Demons believe in God, buddhists, muslims, and every type of other false way acknowledge God. However, in Christianity, if you accept Jesus the Son of God, by default you have accepted God. Why?

    • “I and the Father are one.” —John 10:30

    • “Whoever hates Me hates My Father as well.” —John 15:23

    • “If anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.” —1 John 4:15

    • “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.” —1 John 5:12

    • “Who is the liar, if it is not the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, who denies the Father and the Son.” —1 John 2:22

We see unequivocally the doctrine of Christianity, that it is indeed not about God, nor the Holy Spirit, or even the end times. No. It is emphatically about Jesus, His finished work on the cross. We believe the Christian is to be taught the finished work of Jesus, and henceforth, the Holy Spirit Himself brings about the transformation in a believer’s life. We believe that any so-called minister, or church, that cannot unveil the finished work of Jesus is either a heretic, or completely inept.

    • “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” Psalm 51:5

    • “Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.” —Jeremiah 13:23

I understand it takes great humility for a human being to confess how wicked and hopeless they are without Christ. This is the undisputable truth. The Bible verses above declare that we were all born sinners. In the New Testament, this is further illustrated and confirmed.

    • “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” —Romans 3:10-11

    • “They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” —Romans 3:12

We see that there is not one single human being on this earth that is righteous in themselves. From the very moment we were born, we were born into sin. We were born sinners, with a dark sinful nature. Where did this sin come from?

    • “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” —Romans 5:12

The truth is that we were all sinners not because we sinned, but rather because we were born into this fallen world with a sin nature, passed down all the way from Adam as seen in the verse above. In Romans, Adam is described as the “first Adam” and Jesus as the “Last Adam.” You see, Adam is the federal head of the first human race. Jesus is the last Adam and the federal head of the new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

The sin nature is removed from the moment we are born again.

However, we must first fully comprehend this truth, that every single human being on earth is born a sinner. That is why Jesus said to Nicodemus, “Ye must be born again,” found in the Gospel of Saint John. The human vessel is tainted, corrupted, and evil from birth. If we do not understand this, we will fall into a complete delusion thinking we can do good without being born again. That is a complete impossibility.

That is why we fully reject humanism, which I will now further expound on in the next article.

  • Humanism is trying to erect change in one’s life, without looking to the finished work of the cross of Christ. We see this ever so subtle, which makes it that much more pernicious.

“Try this method…here is the formula to success…here is the formula for a calm mind…here are the 5 keys to…”

Humanism has completely overtaken the pulpit in the modern church. We have no idea what Jesus did for us on the cross of Christ. We put in place (anti) of Christ, all these traditions and methods, hoping to God they will save us. But no friend, only grace and Jesus Christ can deliver us out from Egypt into the promised land.

Moses (the law and all its methods) kept begging God to go into the promised land, but the LORD forbade him and said, “Enough from you; do not speak to me of this matter again.” —Deuteronomy 3:23-26

What we fail to comprehend is that every single time we take it upon ourselves to better ourselves, to deliver ourselves, to heal ourselves, we have just frustrated the grace of God.

    • “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.” —Galatians 2:21

As seen above, not only have we frustrated the grace of God, but we have just negated the blood of Christ.

    • “How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?” —Hebrews 10:29

Whenever a Christian embraces humanism, and puts their efforts and formulas on a pedestal, they have just slighted the blood of Christ.

    • “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” —Hebrews 10:31

Let us be fully persuaded, no single merit or effort is commanded from us to be healed, delivered, blessed, and prospered. It is all by faith according to grace (Romans 4:16).

Humanism and any concept of “self-help” in the church will be judged by the LORD.
